I’m in my 30s, 40s, or 50s and suddenly feel lost. Is that normal?
Yes. Many people reach a point where the life they built no longer feels like it fits — after trauma, divorce, grief, caregiving, burnout, or major life changes. Feeling lost does not mean you failed. It often means you are becoming more aware of what you need. Therapy helps you reconnect with who you are now, not just who you had to be to survive.
What is it like to work with you in therapy?
I provide a calm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can speak openly and be yourself. Sessions are collaborative and move at your pace. I use trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR, DBT skills, and talk therapy, to help you feel more grounded, process difficult experiences, and create meaningful change.
I have been through trauma. Will I have to relive everything?
No. You do not have to relive every detail of your trauma in order for therapy to help.
Some people worry that counseling means being forced to recount painful experiences step-by-step. In reality, a good therapist moves at your pace and focuses first on helping you feel safe and supported. You are always in control of what you share and when you share it
What if I feel nervous, embarrassed, or do not know what to say?
That is very common. You do not need to have the right words or know where to start. I will help guide the conversation and make sure you feel supported. Therapy is a space where you don’t have to perform, explain yourself perfectly, or have everything figured out.
Do I really need therapy, or am I just “going through a phase”?
The truth is that therapy isn’t only for crises or major mental health diagnoses. People seek counseling for many reasons—stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, grief, feeling stuck, or simply wanting greater clarity and personal growth.
If something has been bothering you for a while, interfering with your daily life, affecting your relationships, sleep, work, or sense of well-being, it may be worth talking with a therapist. Even if it is a temporary phase, therapy can provide support, perspective, and tools that help you move through it more effectively.
I have been strong for everyone else. Why do I feel so tired and sad?
When you have spent years taking care of others, pushing through pain, or living in survival mode, your nervous system eventually gets overwhelmed. This can show up as exhaustion, depression, anxiety, irritability, or numbness. Therapy gives you a place to stop holding everything together and begin receiving support.
